CHANCERY NOTICE

I. APPOINTMENTS

Cardinal John TONG has made the following appointments:

Rev. Deacon Francis Vergara MAHILUM, CICM, is to assist in the pastoral ministry in St. Lawrence’s Parish, Cheung Sha Wan, Lei Cheng Uk and Mei Foo Sun Chuen, Kowloon, effective 1 April 2017.

Rev. John MACGRATH, SSC, ceased to be Rector of Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Central District, Hong Kong on 14 March 2017 and returned to Ireland for retirement. He is to be replaced as Rector by Rev. Michael CUDDIGAN, SSC, with effect from 1 May 2017. On the same day Rev. CUDDIGAN will cease to be Assistant Parish Priest in the Cathedral Parish, Central District and Mid-Levels, Hong Kong.

II. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS

The 54th World Day of Prayer for Vocations will be celebrated on the Fourth Sunday of Easter, 7 May 2017. The theme for this year is: “Led by the Spirit for Mission”.

A second collection in support of the diocesan Holy Spirit Seminary is to be taken up at all public Masses on 7 May. Cheques issued for this specific purpose should be made payable to “The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong” and sent to the Diocesan Procuration.
