Cardinal John TONG retiring

and  The Most Rev. Michael YEUNG succeeding as Bishop of Hong Kong

By a disposition of Pope Francis which takes effect today (1st August 2017), Cardinal John Tong Hon retires as Bishop of Hong Kong and is succeeded by his Coadjutor, Bishop Michael Yeung Ming-cheung.

 

Bishop Michael Yeung will meet with the media tomorrow (2nd August, 2017) at 3:00p.m. at the Catholic Diocese Centre, 4/F, 16 Caine Road, Hong Kong.

 

To mark the commencement of the ministry of Bishop Michael Yeung as Bishop of Hong Kong, a Eucharistic celebration will be held on 5th August 2017 (Saturday) at 3:00p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, to be officiated by Bishop Yeung himself. This will be followed by a tea party at the Caritas Community Hall, 5/F, Caritas House, Caine Road.

 

Bishop Michael Yeung will meet with the community leaders of Hong Kong at a cocktail reception to be held on 7 August 2017 (Monday) at 5:00p.m. at the Caritas Community Hall, 5/F, Caritas House. (Note: Attendance by invitation)
