Cardinal John TONG has made the following appointments and transfers—
(i) Effective 1 February 2021
Rev. Joseph Deli JIA, SVD, Assistant Parish Priest in Holy Cross Parish, Shaukiwan, Hong Kong.
(ii) Effective 1 March 2021
Rev. David LAU Foo-kun ceases to be Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Parish, Yaumati, Kowloon, and is appointed Assistant Parish Priest in Mother of Good Counsel Parish, San Po Kong, Kowoon.
Rev. Patrick SUN Ing-feng, is appointed Parish Priest of the above-mentioned St. Paul’s Parish; he will also remain in office as Parochial Administrator of Rosary Parish, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, until 11 March 2021.
Rev. John WOTHERSPOON, OMI, is appointed Assistant Parish Priest in the above-mentioned St. Paul’s Parish.

IV. ASH WEDNESDAY (February 17)
As this year Ash Wednesday (February 17) falls on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year, the faithful are dispensed from fast and abstinence on that day in accordance with our diocesan regulation. However, they are obliged to choose for themselves some other suitable forms of penance or perform some works of charity, in keeping with the penitential spirit of the season of Lent.
