CHANCERY NOTICE


  1. I. APPOINTMENTS AND TRANSFERS

Bishop Stephen CHOW, S.J., has made the following appointments:

  • (1) Effective 9 May 2022

Rev. Joseph MAK, in addition to his current office as Parish Priest of Annunciation Parish, Tsuen Wan, New Territories, is to be appointed Parochial Administrator of St. John the Apostle Parish, Sheung Kwai Chung, New Territories, during the vacation leave (9 May to 10 August 2022) of Rev. Franco CUMBO, PIME.

  • (2) Effective 15 May 2022

Rev. Juan Arcos SOTO, MG, ceases to be Assistant Parish Priest in St. Jude’s Parish, North Point, Hong Kong.  He will be given a new assignment by his own Superior.

  • (3) Effective 1 June 2022

Rev. Joseph Trần Văn Hưởng, OP, ceases to be Assistant Parish Priest in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Shamshuipo, Kowloon; he is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in St. John the Baptist Parish, Kwun Tong, Kowloon.

Rev. Simon WANG Yu Jiang, CICM, ceases to be Assistant Parish Priest in Ss. Cosmas and Damian Parish, Tsuen Wan, New Territories; he is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Pokfulam, Hong Kong.

  • (4) Effective 2 June 2022

Rev. Joseph NGUYEN Duy Tam, currently Assistant Parish Priest in Christ the Worker Parish, Ngau Tau Kok, Kowloon, is to be appointed Parochial Administrator of the same parish, during the vacation leave (2 June to 15 September 2022) of Rev. Mechelle T. Reginio, CICM.

  • (5) Effective 15 June 2022

Rev. Daniel Siwoo KIM, MM, is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in St. Mary’s Parish, Hunghom, Kowloon.

Rev. Grégoire VIGNOLA, SME, ceases to be Assistant Parish Priest in the Cathedral Parish, Central District and Mid-Levels, Hong Kong; he is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Shamshuipo, Kowloon.

Rev. Tommy MURPHY, SSC, is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in the above-mentioned Cathedral Parish.

  1. II. RETIREMENT

In accordance with the diocesan policy for the retirement of clerics, Bishop Stephen CHOW, S.J., has granted the request of Rev. Deacon Francis FUNG Sze Chung, who has completed his seventy-fifth year of age, for retirement, effective 1 August 2022.  With effect from the same date, Deacon Francis Fung will terminate his current ministries, namely, diaconal ministry in Rosary Parish, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon, his pastoral services to the elderly, and membership of the Diocesan Commission for Interreligious Dialogue.
