Having considered the pandemic latest development and our local socio-economic needs, the Government announced on 20 December 2022 a further relaxation of social distancing measures, effective 22 December, 2022. New measures applicable to religious premises (i.e, churches or Mass centres) are as follows:
1. The maximum number of persons at each religious gathering (e.g., a weekday or Sunday Mass, or a wedding) can resume 100% of the normal capacity of the venue.
2. All those who enter religious premises should still comply with the vaccination requirements under the Vaccine Pass (Please refer to the Government website:https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/pdf/vp_t1_ENG.pdf, for details), but they do not have to use the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile application, nor to present the QR code of their vaccination record or Exemption Certificate.
3. Regular environmental cleaning and disinfection on the facilities (such as the seats in a church) should be carried out, at least daily. Given at the Chancery Office, 21 December 2022.
