INSTITUTO SECOLARE CRISTO RE

INSTITUTO SECOLARE CRISTO RE

The institute is a community of consecrated laymen founded in Milan by Venerable Professor Giuseppe Lazzati in 1938 and declared of Pontifical Right in 1963 with members in Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, India, Italy, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Poland, Uganda and Venezuela.

The members are called by the Spirit to consecrate themselves to the Lord by practising the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty and obediences in the secular world, with vows regulated by the Church. The members are not required to live and work together. They give witness to gospel values and make good use of their talents in their families, parishes, workplaces, civic and social environments. They are supported by daily personal prayers through meditation of the word of God, Eucharistic celebration, regular spiritual direction, monthly recollection, annual retreat and study sessions.
