簡介Several LGBT groups have joined together to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission alleging that practitioners of so-called conversion therapy are guilty of consumer fraud, by falsely claiming they can change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. ‘People Can Change’ offers counseling in pursuit of this goal, in addition to referrals to other organizations that claim to be able to “cure” someone of being LGBT.

簡介For men, new research suggests that clues to sexual orientation may lie not just in the genes, but in the spaces between the DNA, where molecular marks instruct genes when to turn on and off and how strongly to express themselves.

簡介The findings of a study of the genetic basis of homosexuality published last week in the journal Science explode the false narrative that being gay is an innate condition that is controlled or largely compelled by one’s genetic makeup. Rebutting decades of search by LGBT scientists for a “gay gene”, the study’s first author flatly concludes “it will be basically impossible to predict one’s sexual activity or orientation just from genetics”.

簡介This research compared retrospective reports of childhood separation anxiety among Istmo Zapotec men, women, muxe gunaa, and muxe nguiiu. Retrospective research conducted in Canada and Samoa demonstrates that cisgender and transgender androphilic males recall elevated indicators of childhood separation anxiety, when compared to males who are gynephilic (i.e., sexually attracted to adult females).

日期20090127
簡介This is a research to analyze the genetic correlation between Gender Atypical Behavior (GAB) and same-sex sexual orientation. The existence of genetic effects on GAB in childhood and sexual orientation in adulthood and the overlap between these effects were studied in a population-based sample of 3,261 Finnish twins aged 33–43 years. Quantitative genetic analyses showed that variation in both childhood gender atypical behavior and adult sexual orientation was partly due to genetics, with the rest being explained by nonshared environmental effects.

What genetics is teaching us about sexuality

簡介 As researchers in biology and sociology who are also gay men, we have long wondered (and debated) whether sexual orientation has any biological basis.

study published Thursday in Science looked at the DNA and sexual behavior of nearly 500,000 people… Researchers since the 1940s have described sexual orientation as a single trait that exists on a scale, ranging from “exclusively heterosexual” to “exclusively homosexual.” But the new study suggests that sexuality is more diverse than that — many different things, rather than one thing in greater or lesser degrees.

But when the researchers tried to add up the contributions of each DNA variant they examined, they could predict less than 1 percent of the variation among study participants.
