NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY COMMUNITY IN HONG KONG

NEOCATECHUMENAL WAY COMMUNITY IN HONG KONG

Objective: The Neocatechumenal Way began in the early 60’s in the slums of Madrid, initiated by Kiko Argúello and Carmen Hernandez, and was endorsed by the Archbishop of Madrid then, Casimiro Morcillo. It has now spread globally over 900 Dioceses in 105 Nations.

The nature of the Neocatechumenal Way was defined by Pope St. John Paul II when he wrote: “I recognize the Neocatechumenal Way as an Itinerary of Catholic Formation, valid for our society and for our times”.

The Neocatechumenal Way is at the service of local bishops, as one of the forms of diocesan implementation of Christian Initiation and for on-going post-baptismal education.

The Neocatechumenal Way, evolves in small communities, which continue on an itinerary of faith supported by the Tripod of the Word of God and the Holy Eucharist celebrated weekly in the Community, and monthly, a Convivence among brothers and sisters.

THE COMMUNITY OF SANT’ EGIDIO

THE COMMUNITY OF SANT’ EGIDIO

The Community of Sant’Egidio is a Christian Catholic community born in 1968, under the initiative of Andrea Riccardi, in Rome. With the years, it has become a network of communities in more than 70 countries and regions of the world. The Community in Hong Kong, which is directly related with the mother Community in Rome, was established in 1998.
