CHANCERY NOTICE

 

I. EDUCATION DAY

 

 

In accordance with the practice of our diocese, 23 September, the fourth Sunday of September (25th Sunday of the Year), is observed as Education Day.  Our theme this year is Let the children come to me (Mk 10:14).  A special prayer of the faithful and other related materials for the use of parishes, Mass centres and Catholic schools will be provided by the Catholic Education Office.

 

A second collection for the promotion of Catholic education is to be taken up at all public Masses on this occasion.  Cheques issued for this specific purpose should be made payable to “The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong” and sent to the Diocesan Procuration.

 

II. MONTHLY RETREAT FOR CLERGY

 

 Date: Wednesday, 26 September 2018

III.   APPOINTMENTS AND TRANSFERS

 

Bishop Michael YEUNG has made the following appointments and transfers:

 

1) Effective 9 September 2018 

Rev. Xavier DEMOLLIENS, MEP, is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in St. Stephen’s Parish, Ha Kwai Chung, New Territories.

 

2) Effective 15 October 2018

Rev. John B. TSANG Hing-mun ceases to be Parish Priest of Rosary Parish, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon; he will retire and reside at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Shamshuipo, Kowloon.

 

Rev. Mario E. GUTIÉRREZ CARREJO, MG, ceases to be Parish Priest of Mother of Christ Parish, Sheung Shui, New Territories, and is to be appointed Parish Priest of the above-mentioned Rosary Parish.

 

Rev. Fernando MONTES LEDESMA, MG, currently Assistant Parish Priest in the above-mentioned Mother of Christ Parish, is to be appointed Parish Priest of the same parish.

 

Rev. Arturo DE LA TORRE GUERRERO, MG, is to be appointed Assistant Parish Priest in the above-mentioned Mother of Christ Parish.

 

3) Effective 1 November 2018

Rev. Deacon Bernard TANG Bun will resign from his pastoral ministry in Holy Family Parish, Choi Hung Estate and Choi Wan Estate; he will go into retirement.
