Bishop Stephen CHOW, S.J., appointed eight future permanent deacons, to be ordained on 17 June 2023, to assist in the pastoral services of the following parishes:
1. Effective 1 July 2023
Rev. Deacon Vincent CHAN Lok-wang: St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Shamshuipo, Kowloon;
Rev. Deacon Patrick LEUNG Pak-wai: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Wanchai, Hong Kong;
Rev. Deacon Paul LUI Yu-shing: St. Mary’s Parish, Hunghom, Kowloon;
Rev. Deacon Francis TANG Chi-ho: St. John the Baptist Parish, Kwun Tong, Kowloon;
Rev. Deacon Paul WAT Ho-keung: St. Andrew’s Parish, Tseung Kwan O, Kowloon;
Rev. Deacon Stephen YAU Siu-kwan: Our Lady of China Parish, Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon.
2. Effective 1 August 2023
Rev. Deacon Thomas LAM Chiu-wan: Rosary Parish, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon.
II. SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR THE APOSTOLIC SEE
On the basis of Canon 1271, the Apostolic See is making an explicit appeal for more contribution from the local Churches according to their resources, so that they may give greater support to the Apostolic See in its service to the universal Church. As an expression of the bond of unity and charity between our diocese and the Apostolic See, parishes are to take up a second collection at all public Masses on 2 July 2023 (Sunday).
Cheques issued for the above specific purpose should be made payable to “The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong” and sent to the Diocesan Procuration.
