Chancery Notice

“Cloud of Witnesses (Hebr 12:12) – Walk with the Saints” Pilgrimage of the Relics (8 – 18 July 2023)

In response to the call to holiness for all the Christian faithful, as highlighted in the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et exsultate of Pope Francis, the above-named Pilgrimage of Relics (for details, see https:treasuresofthechurch.com), jointly organized by the Catholic Education Office and the Diocesan Pastoral Commission for Marriage and the Family, will be held from 8th to 18th July 2023.

The event will have a total of 18 sessions (for details, see event website: www. relic.catholic.org.hk). Each 3-hour session will include an introductory talk, followed by a visit to the relics of 150 relics of Saints and Blesseds on display, accompanied by personal veneration and prayers. The whole event will conclude with a thanksgiving Mass on 18th July, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cathedral, celebrated by Bishop Joseph HA, OFM.

The Apostolic Pentientiary has benevolently granted a plenary indulgence to the faithful who take part in a session of the aforementioned Pilgrimage, with the usual conditions of a spirit of detachment from any sin, sacramental confession (within three weeks either before or after participation in the Pilgrimage), Educharistic Communion, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions (may be satisfied by reciting one Our Father and one Hail Mary).

The sick, the elderly and all those who for a serious reason are unable to leave their homes, can likewise obtain the plenary indulgence if they, detached from any sin, have the intention of fulfilling, as soon as possible, the three usual conditions and join themselves spiritually to the aforementioned pilgrimages, offering to God their own sufferings and hardships.

The same plenary indulgence is applicable to the souls in Purgatory.

Given by the Chancery Office,

19 June 2023.

Rev. Lawrence LEE

Chancellor
