簡介The definition of ‘marriage’ varies across the European Union (EU). An increasing number of Member States is willing to or is in the process of including same-sex couples under the notion of ‘marriage’. This paper focuses on the ‘legal jungle’ that same-sex couples face when moving and residing from one Member State to another. The research hereby aims to examine how these – profoundly Catholic – Member States have dealt with citizenship rights of mobile same-sex couples. This paper argues that the recognition of same-sex relationships depends strongly on the interaction between the judiciary and the legislature.

簡介香港中文大學香港亞太研究所就香港是否應該合法化同性戀婚姻和同性婚姻伴侶可享有的公民權利問題進行了電話訪問。訪問結果發現，四成七（47%）的受訪市民認為香港應該讓同性戀者註冊結婚，但亦有近四成（39.5%）人持反對意見。

簡介 As researchers in biology and sociology who are also gay men, we have long wondered (and debated) whether sexual orientation has any biological basis.

 

A study published Thursday in Science looked at the DNA and sexual behavior of nearly 500,000 people… Researchers since the 1940s have described sexual orientation as a single trait that exists on a scale, ranging from “exclusively heterosexual” to “exclusively homosexual.” But the new study suggests that sexuality is more diverse than that — many different things, rather than one thing in greater or lesser degrees.

But when the researchers tried to add up the contributions of each DNA variant they examined, they could predict less than 1 percent of the variation among study participants.
